Retina Specialists of Connecticut is a dedicated, privately owned ophthalmology practice focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical care of retinal diseases. We specialize in managing vitreoretinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, retinal tears and detachments, macular holes and puckers, ocular trauma, and complications following previous eye surgery.

The practice was founded by Dr. Erol Verter, a board-certified vitreoretinal surgeon who trained at Boston University, Harvard, and Yale. He remains actively involved in academic medicine and currently serves as a Clinical Instructor at Yale School of Medicine, where he teaches ophthalmology residents and retina fellows in both clinical and surgical settings. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Verter also sees patients at Dana Eye Clinic, a part of Yale New Haven Health that provides care for individuals without health insurance.
