Many patients with Central Serous Chorioretinopathy (CSCR) initially notice mild blurring of vision, which may progress to include various types of visual distortion. Common symptoms include metamorphopsia (distorted or wavy vision), micropsia (objects appearing smaller than they are), and chromatopsia (colors appearing altered or washed out). A shift in vision toward farsightedness (hyperopia) may also occur, as the accumulation of fluid changes the contour of the central retina. Visual acuity can vary significantly-from 20/20 to as poor as 20/200-with an average of approximately 20/30.
